Five Point Restoration always strives to bring its customers the very best in drying technology. By investing in the Injectidry system, we have done just that. The Injectidry is a piece of drying equipment technology that is changing the way we look at water damage cleanup and repair.
For example, in the past, normal practice within the insurance restoration industry has been to tear out and replace water damaged hardwood floors. It's been said that this was the only option since the moisture between the hardwood and the sub-floor would take too long to evaporate and would eventually be the cause of more serious damage like cupping or crowing of the wood, and possibly hazardous mold growth. However, with the Injectidry system, mats are placed on the hardwood surface and sealed at the edges. Hoses are then connected to small holes in the mats which are in turn connected to the Injectidry unit. Then, in conjunction with air evacuation and dehumidification methods the system is allowed to run. The pressure created by the Injectidry unit is able to remove the moisture from the small cracks and before unreachable places. Although the results are not immediate, within a couple of days, signs of damage which were before visible are virtually gone. Usually, a sanding and re-finish of the wood floor is in order, however, the major cost of tear out and replacement is avoided.
One noteworthy point is, however, that in order for the Injectidry system to really work, the process needs to be started fairly soon after the flood has occurred. If more than 12 hours has passed problems are usually encountered and the likelihood of successful dry-out and restoration diminishes. In other words, not every hardwood floor can be saved.
What I like about the Injectidry system is its versatility. It can be used in many different ways and in a variety of situations. I've used this system to dry wall cavities and ceilings with minimal drywall damage and repair. The bottom line is... Whether its being used for wood floors, wall cavities, or ceilings, the Injectidry system is an amazing piece of drying technology that is helping to better the restoration industry.
